Autorun Virus Removal - How to Pull Out Your Computer System From Autorun Virus

Autorun virus as the name suggests that a virus that can execute automatically. This is a specific program which is quite nasty and it can spread into the entire system, network or other system via the external storage devices. Whenever you click the storage disk drive to explore its content the virus gets the chance to run its set-up and it gradually creates more and more copies of autorun.inf and .exe files on every drive of your computer. It may damage the registry settings and corrupt the root directory of a program. Aftermath could be devastating if not taken care.

1. Explore command prompt. Navigate to Windows, then Run, and type "cmd”. Press enter.
2. Type "cd\" and press “Enter” key to get to the root directory of c:\.
3. Type "attrib -h -r -s autorun.inf" and press enter.
4. Type "del autorun.inf" and press enter.
5. Repeat the same process with other drives, type "d:" and do the same thing. Then next enter "e:"and restart your computer.
6. Restart your computer and it's done. Enjoy the freedom to open hard drives on a double click.
Nevertheless prevention is better than cure. If you have an antivirus installed already then take care that it is updated on regular base or it will be better to have antivirus protection which is updated automatically at least once in a day. If you are sharing USB or external hard drive then make sure to disinfect it before accessing the content. Always keep your Windows updated and use legitimate software and keep the Windows Firewall well configured. These steps will significantly help you to protect your system from the Autorun viruses.
